Rental Assistant (Part-Time, Hourly / Occasional) = $17/hour

The Gathering Place at Kennett (TGP@Kennett) is seeking a friendly, dependable, and service-oriented Rental Assistant to help support evening and weekend events at our community center. We rent our space to community members hosting graduation, birthday, and anniversary parties, wedding receptions and more!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet event hosts and guests with warmth and professionalism
  • Assist event hosts with needs during events to ensure a positive experience
  • Set up rooms according to event host specifications, including moving and positioning tables and chairs
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness of restrooms and common areas during events
  • Empty and maintain trash receptacles throughout events
  • Break down event setups and restore the center to its normal day-to-day layout after events

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to move and position 60-inch round tables and other event furnishings
  • Friendly, warm, and customer-service oriented
  • Reliable, flexible, and comfortable working independently
  • Must successfully pass a background clearance check
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Schedule:
Part-time, occasional evenings and weekends, based on event rentals.

Volunteer Front Desk/Greeter Job Description

Position Summary
The Greeter is the first point of contact at The Gathering Place at Kennett, welcoming visitors and ensuring they have a smooth and informed arrival. This volunteer role is crucial in managing check-in procedures, supporting administrative tasks, and providing accurate information about our programs and services to enhance the overall visitor experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visitor Welcome and Check-In:
    • Greet visitors with a warm and friendly demeanor as they enter TGP@Kennett.
    • Ensure all visitors sign before proceeding to activities.
  • Paperwork and Registration:
    • Monitor the outstanding paperwork list and collect necessary documents, including registration forms and the SilverSneakers Waiver/Release Form, as needed.
  • Information Distribution:
    • Provide visitors with the Activity Schedule and Lunch Menu as needed.
    • Share information about Membership, including benefits, costs, and the sign-up process.
    • Answer questions about the Activity Schedule and offer details regarding the Lunch pre-registration process.
    • Share information about the TGP@Kennett’s periodic events
  • Lunch Coordination:
    • Check off lunch attendees as they arrive and distribute name signs to ensure smooth lunch service.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with periodic administrative tasks such as mailings and other support duties
